We are so excited to read The Fitting Room: Putting on the Character of Christ by Kelly Minter during our Summer 2019 Bible study. You’ll find the details below on how to join our community and make new friends as we study, connect and grow.
Kelly Minter Bible Studies are rich with storytelling and application. She doesn’t spoon feed her readers and encourages them to dig deeper as she lays a foundation. In this study she delivers a strong message of forgiveness- something you don’t want to miss.
When you read books by Minter, you’ll feel like Kelly is sitting across the table from you. She’s well-known for her “Living Room” series which incorporates studying the Bible, practicing hospitality and cultivating friendships. At the Bible Cafe™ we carry a similar concept of togetherness. This book is lighter than other studies we’ve led, intentionally selected for your summer enjoyment.
There’s no daily homework. If you have time to read two chapters a week- this one is for YOU.
What to Expect
Everyday, staring the week of June 24 we’ll have conversations around the character of the world and the virtues of Christ. You’ll agree- these are vastly different virtues! Join a discussion that is convenient for you. There are many available times and options, and we have leaders who are facilitating study groups each day of the week.
Based on Colossians 3:12 we want to understand how to “clothe” ourselves in Christian virtues like forgiveness, joy, patience, compassion. For many this is a renewal of how we see ourselves in the reflection of Christ. Can we really “dress up” in His character?
Each week we’ll read two chapters from Kelly’s book and discuss these virtues. We’ll have additional content and Scripture verses to enhance your learning. You could curl up in a comfy chair with your iced coffee or sweet tea and enjoy the lessons here. It’s perfect for summer.
You don’t need a theology degree to understand this teaching material. It’s written for every woman, not seminary students. You might read a chapter a day, or two chapters a week, or the entire book on a weekend at the beach.
Kelly Minter says if we let the Master Designer do the fitting, we learn to wear His virtues. Kelly also shares simple, down-to-earth explanations of tricky concepts such as justification and sanctification—stitching it all together with humor and honesty. There are no gimmicks, no guilt trips.
As a result this is irresistible invitation for women to enjoy a spiritual makeover. Put on a life that’s personally tailored by the One who knows and loves you best.
