Do I Need a Study Book?
Yes. Bible Cafe™ studies are built on the model of church Bible study groups. Study book is a available from most bookstores. Digital books are sometimes available from Lifeway, ChristianBooks, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, or iTunes. When using a digital book we recommend a journal for recording your responses to the study questions.
When Do The Small Groups Meet?
Small groups are available for current (not past) studies. We meet mornings, afternoons and evenings. Each group lasts one hour long, sometimes the discussion may run over by 10-15 minutes and its fine if you need to leave early.
What Church Are You Affiliated With?
None. Bible Cafe™ is a Christian interdenominational ministry. Our leaders are Evangelical, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Protestant, Southern Baptist and similar denominations. We are a parachurch ministry (we suport churches by offering Bible studies) and not affiliated with a specific denomination.
Who Are The Leaders?
Our Founder & Executive Director earned a Graduate of Theology degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University. In addition to her Biblical Studies education, she has completed more than 100 Bible studies. Examine the Book of Psalms and you will learn how these writers found strength in hard times. They celebrated in good times. They connected with God through prayer. The Psalm writers did not always use language of encouragement. Sometimes they expressed their bitterness and raw hurts. And so we can too. Sometimes it’s okay, to be vulnerable, so God can restore our peace. Learn how in your study of Psalms

SOAP Bible Study Method

SOAP is a method of Bible reading which follows this format. Many will use a journal, colorful pens, and creative worship. Others will keep it simple with a sheet of paper and write one paragraph for each of these four parts:
  • Scripture – Read a Psalm and write down a verse or two that captures your attention.
  • Observation – What are your personal observations from this Scripture?
  • Application – How does it apply to your everyday life? What can you do to apply this in your life today?
  • Prayer – Write a personal prayer based on your observation and application.
