Moore, Beth. Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman. Lifeway, 2017.
Audio and video sessions from Beth Moore are available to rent or buy at Lifeway or Apple Music. (optional but recommended)
This course is a general study of Bible doctrine designed to introduce the student to the character of God. This course presents the following areas of doctrine: Attributes of God, Biblical Authority, Humanity, Sin, Salvation, Fasting, and Redemption.
The Bible Cafe™ provides, for its students, a deeper understanding of the Scriptures. In so doing, it is necessary to develop a thorough understanding of Christian doctrine as it is presented throughout the Bible. This course provides students with a firm theological grounding which will serve as a guide for courage. “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”” (Esther 4:14 NLT).
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain why the character of God is woven through history
- Discuss key doctrinal terms as they relate to the nature and work of God.
- Distinguish between the differences and implications of keeping silent and being visible
- Understand how to remove conformity and surrender in favor of God’s will
- Differentiate between justice and revenge
- Compare the prayer life of Esther and Mordecai with modern Christians
