This new bible study by Priscilla Shirer is just too tempting to pass up….so we’ll be reading Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted during the next few weeks. Some of you are completing the Ruth Women’s Bible Cafe™ study, others are waiting for the New Beth Moore Study, and a few have expressed interest in this study of Jonah.
Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer provides a personal study experience five days a week in this in-depth women’s Bible study. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! In this Bible study, Priscilla redefines interruption and shows that interruption is God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was a revival in an entire city. (source: Lifeway.com)
This is a 6-week study, so one week of study will be followed by a Beth Moore study. This study of Jonah begins on August 3, 2010, so order your workbooks now if you’d like to participate. We’ll post updates once a week for the study. You can purchase optional audio or video segments from the Lifeway.com

I ordered my workbook today and look forward to spending more time in the Word! My name is Christine and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area,California. My twitter name is @LifeVerse and my navigation skills….well..I have sailed a boat in San Francisco bay and I’m thankful that my husband can read nautical maps! I get lost so easily, even when you show me the key navigation points…so when I saw the compass on the cover of this new book, I was certain that the book will guide me deeper into my bible study. Looking forward to meeting you!
hope i can get the book in time. i really like the online format for bible study. not to used to the blog yet though.
You can download the first chapter we provided a link above.
Hello! I am looking forward to this online study. I live in the Washington, DC area. I neither blog nor Twitter. My navigation skills on land are terrible (thank goodness for the GPS era), and since I don’t know how to swim, I haven’t had the opportunity to confirm what I suspect is true: I probably lack navigational skills on water also!
Ready for August 3!
I received my book today and I am so excited! I have been wanting to do a Priscilla Shirer study! I have asked my small group in Lexington, KY and we are considering this for our next study; however, if they are not going to participate I will be a loner again! The best fishing story I have….is from when my Grandma was living…we were fishing and I wasn’t quite a teenager yet. I caught a fish and since I am to afraid to take it off the line, it was bouncing around and landed on her head. I love that woman. And as far as navigational tools…that is what my husband is for…he is a walking GPS and no his name is not Tom Tom!!! So excited about this study and being apart of this group again!
Good to see a fellow Kentuckian on here… I am about 1.5 hours from Lexington in Southeastern Kentucky.
Hello Everyone! I picked up my book at Lifeway on my way back from lunch. (I’m lucky enough to have a store just 2 minutes from my house!) I live in Maryland (about 70 miles from DC.) I have a blog “coolestcareer.blogspot.com” although I’ve been a little inactive with it for the last month or so. (Gotta get back in that groove.)
I’m finishing the tail end of Ruth so I’ll be ready to jump in to Jonah.
Navigation—oh my goodness, before my husband and I were married, we went to a mall shaped like a wheel. Without him, I would have never found the car! However, when we go on trips, I am the navigator complete with my map (our route planned out), pencil and highlighter. I like to keep track of the MPG we get on the car, I count off the exits..the whole nine yards. I’m ready when there is a detour. That’s where I’m at my best (as long as I’m not the one behind the wheel! )
Hmm…I didn’t realize there were Lifeway stores in Maryland!! I’ve never been in one. Looks like I might have a road trip comming on.
Yep…Not sure where you’re located, but if you check Lifeway’s website and search stores you’ll find it. They have sales quite often so you can probably sign up to receive the flyers for those (make your trip worthwhile )
Great idea! Off to check the website…
Umm…make that “coming” on. (Perhaps I should add proofreading to the list of “skills I don’t have” that already includes navigagtion!
LOL! I’m right there will you! I’m always making mistakes in my facebook posts and not proofing before I send!
Hi I’m Nicole. i live in Northern California. My twitter link is @nicolepipkin I love meeting new people from other states or countries.
My navigational skills is not so good. I am not a fan of freeways…mainly connecting freeways. Where to get off at an exit to connect to another one just scares me to death. About 10 years ago we moved and I had found a doctor that said they were about 45 minutes away from me. So I had my hubby show me how to get there. Too many freeways involved. Needless to say, i canceled the appt and found a doctor in MY city. I can get around my town and the little towns that surround it but going into a major city…NOPE, that is not for me. I leave that to my hubby.
Hi there! My name is Wendy and I live in North Texas. I’m so looking forward to this bible study! The last online study I did was in 2002, Beth Moore, and loved it!
Navigation: Well, I was in the Navy for 8 years, married a Navy SEAL, and now I live on a lake. But, I have a healthy respect for all water areas.
Can’t wait to read, pray, study & chat with everyone.
Hi Im Karla Im from Central Minnesota 🙂 However Im originally from Eastern South Dakota and still like to claim South Dakota even though I lived here 20 years now.
Well, I ordered my book today Im looking forward to a study for late summer. I joined your website to do Ruth but my life navigated me another direction with both my parents having health problems at the same time. It isn’t all worked out yet but we are working on it. So Im ready to start hopefully it will help me get focus. 🙂 !!!
Im usually good with a map and we have went to many destinations just fine but one time we went to Chicago. We could see our hotel a couple blocks away each direction but couldn’t find a one way street to get to it. We kept going in circles around the hotel. 🙂 The sad part is I was so flustered I started turning the map when he was turning a corner. It wasn’t funny at the time but we sure laugh and laugh about it now.
Looking forward to my first study.
I am finishing up Ruth as well as plan to participate in the Bible Study beginning in Sept., but I figure the more in the Word I am, the better. I have completed a couple of Beth Moore studies on my own, and have really enjoyed the online format from this summer. As far as navigating, I am horrible at directions, but was able to drive the boat a little when we took it to the lake! I love the water, enjoy swimming whether it is in a pool, a lake, or the ocean (although here in Eastern Kentucky, I am usually settling for the pool :-)) Looking forward to getting started… I have never completed a Priscilla Shirer study so I am excited!
Hello!!! My name is Debbie and I am from Dayton, Tennessee. I have been following @Lifeverses on twitter and found out about this site. This is my first study….and God showed me long ago that Jonah and I are definitely related!!! LOL
My twitter name is @creativeheart
Looking forward to this study and to sharing with all of you.
Navigation…I am so thankful for the app on my phone that helps me find where I am going or I would be continually circling the globe!!! (smile)
Hi!!! My name is Meg and I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I’m new to this site and I am really looking forward to this study. Anything to get me into the Word is good!
I’m pretty good at directions and don’t get too flustered when I get lost. I drove to Canada and Indianapolis using a map and I really liked it…looking to see where I was on the map through the trip. So, I think I will really like to navigate through this study as well!
My twitter name is @MeggieMagoo and I look forward to getting closer to God and to all of you. 🙂
1. Carla in Florida, finishing the Ruth study and it has truly been a blessing to me.
2. @Therealtormom on twitter or http://thecare-a-van.blogspot.com/
3. I’m more than positive no one would want me as a navigator! we road trip a lot and in the beginning i would always end up missing something on the map. Now my husband looks at the map and memorizes the route and only asks me the really small stuff like, “how many miles did it say from point a to b”
I always felt challenged as a REALTOR, unable to navigate or read maps. This was before GPS became affordable. So I spent hours just mapping out the homes I would show my clients, from point A to point Z. On the brokers tour, when I needed to look at 30 homes in three cities, in 3 hours! I think it’s just God’s way of reminding me how much I depend on Him as my guide. He navigates, I follow.
Ah…something in common. I am now a referral agent due to health issues but up until March of this yesr, I was a REALTOR as well!
*sorry that i’m late in responding*
Christine- I only would use our gps (which is now broken) to get around town and this city is not even that big…just goes to show how “navigationally challenged” i am.lol.
Mary Ann- It’s a pretty exciting career! I got into it to have a free pass to look at the beautiful, gigantic homes that i couldn’t afford just to get hit by tons of paper work and legalities 🙂
I hear ya there, Carla. Because of a health issue, I am a referral agent right now.
Hi! I’m Marrissa from Orlando, FL. Just finishing up the Ruth Bible Study and can’t wait to start this new study on Jonah! Some people would say that I am a human GPS!! For some reason, I have always been great at navigating….just not always with my own life 😉
Hi! I’m excited to try this out! I’m a friend of Nicole’s and also live in Northern California. There was a guest speaker at my church last year, whom I LOVE to listen to, he did a talk on Jonah and it was one of the BEST sermons I’ve EVER heard! As far as my navigation skills, well…I’m very thankful for GPS and Google Maps! I’m not terrible at directions, but the GPS sure makes driving a lot easier!
(I don’t really twitter and don’t have a public blog.)
I just ordered my book! I’m at Coronado, CA. I’m proud to say that I’m the navigator in the family. I remember roads better than my husband 🙂 Now that we have the GPS I feel that we are sometimes too reliant on it. We were in Washington DC this March and rented a car to drive from DC to Gettysburg and our GPS couldn’t detect where we were (it was still in California!). Thankfully, something made me print Google maps directions before we left on our trip! Definitely God must have known. GPS finally got our location on our way back to DC. oh well, it served us well for the drive to the airport the next day.
I’ll be away the first week of the study – – but I plan on jumping in as soon as I get home! I’m looking forward to the study (as always) _ I love these studies! Thank you, again for spending the time to encourage us, teach us, mentor us!
Hi! I’m Susan from Chesapeake, Virginia. I love doing these Bible Studies – they have been a Spirit lifter during some tough times!
I am directionally challenged . . .my family says I get lost pulling out of the driveway!
My fishing story – – I don’t go fishing, but one year while visiting my brother he convinced me to go deep sea fishing with him . .so onto the chartered boat we went (me praying I wouldn’t get seasick!) well, they had this wager – everyone through in $1.00 and the winner would be the one who caught the biggest fish. My brother through in a dollar for him, a dollar for me. . .well, the day went on & on . . .if it weren’t for the good company I would have fallen asleep! but, guess who won? me! the size of my fish – about 6 inches! there were a lot of unhappy fisherman that day – – they didn’t catch anything at all!
Hi! I’m Debbie, and live in Warren, Oregon, which is about 25 miles north of Portland. I too am just finishing up the book of Ruth, which has been a blessing. I thought about waiting for the Beth Moore study in September, but I figure the more I’m in the Word, the better!
I don’t have a twitter or blog, as I already waste enough time fooling around on the web and don’t need another distraction!
Maps and I don’t get along. However, I love the GPS in my car and my app on my phone – great tools!!! A few years ago, my husband and I traveled to Europe and I was the navigator… it wasn’t a pretty picture, especially in the city of Siena, Italy. I think we drove in circles for over an hour! Needless to say, things were a little tense in the car. 🙂
Looking forward to what the Lord is going to teach us all in in the month of August!
Hi,
My name is Amy and I am from Detroit, Michigan. I do not have a blog or twitter account. As for navigation skills, I have a great sense of direction, but I always bring my GPS to areas that I am unfamiliar with. I really don’t like fishing either. When I was younger we would visit my grandparents whom lived on a lake and my sister and brother would always want to fish, but I could never bait my own hook!
I am currently in a small group bible study with a great group of women. I found this website when I was looking for ideas for a topic for our next bible study and thought I would try this one too! I’ve done a few Beth Moore Studies and have really enjoyed them. I am really looking forward to this study!
Hi, my name is Nicki and I live in Memphis, TN! I saw Priscilla Shirer retweeted about this site/study and decided to check it out! This will be my first experience joining a web based Bible Study Group! I have not purchased the book/workbook yet, but I will head to Lifeway today to pick it up! This is a fun season to study this subject for me. I have an almost 2 year old little boy and a little girl due on August 20th – so I know I can expect God and life interuptions for sure 😉
My twitter name is nickiraecooper and facebook is Nicki White Cooper.
Navagation, maps and directions are not my strong point – but I’m always up for the journey!
Looking forward to diving in with all of you!
Nicki
Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your daughter! I’m praying that all will go well, and that you and your family will be happy and blessed.
Hi I’m Sharon and live in Fort Worth, Texas. I have not picked up my book yet but will by Monday or order by then if they don’t have it. Picking it up will be my next navigational test. Our Lifeway moved to a very congested area and there is a tricky get over. I have been there once and was in a great panic!
Now that is something because I moved here from Houston where I knew my way all around that city. This one is something else to me though. Or it’s my getting older! I prefer side streets these days 🙂
I have a blog with three countem’ posts. I really need to get in the habit of keeping it up. So if you go there it’s in the works. It is http://journeyofjoyfulpursuits.blogspot.com/ thought no pursuits as yet have been posted…
Thank you for the downloads in case I have to wait
Oh and I submitted too quickly – I feel assured my navigation skills will greatly improve in Bible study with you all. Right now I am drowning in too much doing and not enough reading/studying the Bible and I suspect (well I know) God is thinking it’s about time you got back to the source that enables you to do all these other things except lately pay attention to Me.
Reading comments, going deeper in what the story of Jonah tells us I feel is going to bring me back to His fold.
Hi, my name is Regina…twitter name is mommaregina! In Orange Park, Fl. Mother of five and small group leader of our wondeful church! We are finishing up “One in a Million”. I have been navigating life for some time w/God, but as for fishing…I have a fond memory of being in the St. Johns River, 3am, with my Dad. Dark, hot, and way to calm. We were in a rather small boat and unbeknown to us..we were in a shipping lane. Next thing we knew there was a ship coming up on us. I don’t believe I had ever seen my Father move so quickly! He had us out of there and on our way likety split!
I am looking forward to doing this study on the hills of One in a Million after watching the children of Israel navigate their way to the Promise Land. My life is being interupted by several surgeries…knowing God hqs me camped out and ready to receive a fresh word and “marching orders” to do MORE! Excited to see His hand!
I am ordering my book today and hope to get started with you all on Aug 3! This looks like fun! I need a little fun, different from the normal routine.
Navigation Background: Currently in a “stalled” mode. Waiting, watching. Looking for new direction and inspiration. Searching for God’s fullness to fill this empty vessel. Too much life, not enough rest and quiet! Can you relate???
Anyway. Coming to the Cafe’ from Greenville SC area. Thanks for hosting this forum.
My name is Michelle and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in the East Bay. I just ordered my book and printed the first sample chapter today and am looking forward to my first online bible study! I certainly have had many interruptions in my life and am sure I’ve created many interruptions in God’s plan for my life…but He always makes good out of all my predictaments!
Navigating: When I went away to grad school my mom accompanied me on my road trip from California to Pennsylvania. Navigating is not my Mom’s strong point so it made for some tense moments. I’m lucky my mother still loves me after that trip.
Fishing: I have lots of fishing stories but my favorite is from a couple of years ago. My dad and I went bass fishing with a guide just outside of Mazatlan. I’ve never had so much fun fishing before! Between the 2 of us, we must have caught about 70 fish that day. No joking! Last year we went back but didn’t catch as many, only about 30…but I did catch a 12 pounder! That was exciting!
This is my second study with you ladies. I know i went MIA. But I did follow the study of Ruth. And i am going to be working on Jonah with you all. My name is Tonya I am in IL.
I used to go fishing when i was younger.
Tonya,
Where in IL? I am in Terre Haute, IN.
Hope you enjoy the study.
I was just thinking last night how I would love to join an online bible study group and I ran into your blog today. What great timing too. Hopefully lifeway will have the book in stock as I am always waiting until the last minute for everything.
I am good driving in the city with highways signs. Not so good in the country. My husbands family lives on a farm and those country roads all look the same to me. I’ve been married 14 years and I still got lost this summer trying to find the farm in the dark.
I try to keep my blog updated at least 1 or 2 a week. My twitter id is @cherylnifong
Looking forward to this.
You can print the first chapter off but mine shipped within a couple of days when I orderd it online.
Hi I’m Joeanna from RI.
Well I don’t do boats because I’m terrified of water.:|
On Land, I’m always lost.
I’m a brat like Jonah, God is so good to me
Oh, I am finish the Ruth study. It has refreshened my life, before I started I was stuck and tired. Get ready ladies your gonna love studying God’s word on here.
My name is Tammy and I from Belton SC. I was looking to complete a bible study online and this sounds perfect to meet new friends and learn the word at the same time.
Hi! My name is Michelle, & I’m from Louisiana. I already have my book and am looking forward to doing this online. I am the Women’s Ministry director at my church, and we are offering this study starting in Sept. I like to work through a study before offering it at church, so this allows me to join in with feedback from other ladies.
My twitter name is @michelleaveritt.
Navigating – I have a pretty good sense of direction, but do rely on my GPS:-)
Hi! My name is Amanda and I’m from Wilmington, NC. I am looking forward to starting a new bible study…I recently finished a Francis Chan one with my church prior to july 4th, but am really needing something to get me into my bible. I dont twitter. I do have a question? How do I subscribe to this blog via email? also, I ordered my book today…hoping to receive it soon!
You’re subscribed. When you receive a feedburner confirmation email, click the link to activate your free subscription.
awesome! Thanks! So excited!!
Hi ya’ll, My name is Wendy and I am from South Carolina. I am so excited about this on-line womens Bible study. Life is busy and this gives me an opportunity during my lunch to connect with other women and also to get back into my Bible.
This will be my first experience joining a web based Bible Study Group! Talking about navigation, just being able to navigate around the study on-line will be challenging for me. I do enjoy my GPS on my cell phone and would be lost without it. My husband is EXTREMELY directionally challenged so we have to have GPS.
I do not twitter of have a blogspot. I can hardly wait to start. : )
Just ordered my book. Yeah, last minute. But ordered overnight delivery so hopefully won’t be too far behind. Navigation skills? Not a water person. But pretty good on land.
I did get my book Tuesday–just in time. So excited to do this study with all of you.
My name is Joanie and I live in Ventress, Louisiana. Our women’s ministry is offering this study in the fall. I will be teaching one of the classes and thought it would be helpful to get a better understanding of the material by doing the study online. Thanks for manking this possible.
Hi all,
My name is Victoria and I live in Conway AR. I just finished Ruth with my friend Cara and think this is going to be an awesome study as well!
A story about navigation, hmm…I don’t think I have one! But I do have one about a boat…my husband took me out fishing on his new-used v-bottom boat…We get out to the middle and a shear pin broke…So, we had to paddle all the way back to shore…with just one teeny tiny paddle…Rocking back and forth, back and forth…I thought we were going to turn completely over…I tell ya, we won’t forget that day!
Can’t wait to get started. Going to pick my book up this evening.
Oh and that was the LAST time I went out in that boat with him. LOL
My name is Laura. I live in North Texas. I’m a very busy mom of two children. I am new to Bible Cafe for Women. I purchased my book today and am very excited about this study. I do not twitter or have a blog.
My navigation skills definately need to be sharpened. I can follow directions that have landmarks to guide the way. Fishing is a family tradition so I love being on a boat. I’ve fished with my dad since I was a little girl. And of course, my husband loves to fish too. Our favorite lake is Lake Fork in East Texas.
Hello everyone! My name is Shannon, and I currently live in the beautiful city of New Orleans where I work, learn, minister, and play. I’m so excited about this study, and cannot wait to dive in, and share with you all as we journey together. My twitter name is @ShannonBarr. I will also be launching a blog within the next week at http://www.ShannonBarr.com. It’s been a long process for that:-)
As far as navigation is concerned, lets just say that GPS is my best friend. Although I cannot trust it completely here as many roads do not exist since Katrina. I enjoy exploring while I am lost though!
Again, I cannot wait to get to know all of you as we dive deeper into the life of Jonah!
First time on-line study! Live in Santa Rosa, CA…
I have no fishing stories but love to cruise on our boat.
Just got my Jonah book today!!
Hi All!
My name is Kim and I am in sunny and hot (very hot) Atlanta, GA. My life was interrupted by Priscilla a couple of years ago when I first heard her introduce JONAH. When I became aware that her formal study was coming out this summer, I ran to LifeWay to get my copy. I have been going solo since I got my book, although I am slated to teach a small group in the fall, which means I get to go through the study again. Can you say YEAH?!?! When I found this site today, I high-tailed it over here to join in. This study is hands-down, my absolute favorite of all of Priscilla’s studies. I am ready to navigate with all of you.
Running (toward God),
Kim
Hello,
My name is Traci and I leave outside of Orlando in DeBary, Florida. I have four children…and I love God’s word. Going to see how well I can stick to this with homeschooling 3. I have to wait to get my book but plan on Monday getting it. As far as my navigation skills…I tell others I’m directionally challenged. I have wanted to run from God a LOT, but know that sitting and waiting in HIS presence is also a blessing. I use to do it all and catch fish, but now I can’t stand to touch worms, yuck. This should be interesting, but hey….let’s roll!
So after going back and forth on purchasing this book and joining. I finally decided to just go for it. My step mother has been a Christian for some time now, and i’m merely seeking to learn more while I figure out where I stand. As women who lead busy busy lives I think the basis of this study is right up our ally. So I offered to do the study with her and she was excited about it.. So here we are 🙂 My name is Heather my step mothers name is Linda, and were from Connecticut.
Way to go Heather and Linda!
looking foward to this study there are three of us doing this study I wish I could afford the DVD set Oh well it will be good if God is in it and we know He will be!
Did you know that you can download the audio and/or the video from lifeway.com? Under women’s ministry I think. This is what I am doing and I think by using the audio format, I can relisten again and again from my blackberry media…or ipod.
blessins!
My name is Julia & I live in Birmingham, AL. I love Prisicilla Shirer studies, but have never done one online. I am looking forward to getting into Jonah & expericing my first “virtual” study!!
Jennifer Deffendall is my name. I live in San Antonio, Tx. Just finishing Ruth. Already bought the book last night. No blog as of know. My navigation skills is decent, I had a GPS system but it died. I am still learning where I live at it is a big city.
My name is Sue and I’m from Terre Haute, Indiana, 75+ miles southwest of Indianapolis.
1. My navigation skills are pretty good as I drove to Portland, Oregon, in the 1990’s by myself and back (with no GPS). I also go to Greenwood, Indiana, to see my sister, 95+ miles one way.
2. My fishing story is that my family and I went to Madison, Wisconsin, to visit my dad’s family. I was around 10 years old when we went boating and fishing. My uncle Bob CAUGHT A HUGE FISH. It landed in the boat on me and SCARED me to death. To this day I don’t fish; I just swim like one. I also can row a boat backwards LOL.
And this is a story for another day on rowing my boat backwards.
I just got my book today and am anxious to start. The only fishing story I can think of took place when I was a kid. I caught an eel on my line and thought it was a snake. I threw my pole into the water and ran.
I just found this website yesterday and was excited to find an online Bible study so I ordered the book right away. I’m used to taking other kinds of classes online, so I think this will be a good fit for me. I live in Washington (the state) in the Seattle area. I am definitely directionally challenged, so mapquest is my friend, but I even have to print out the reverse directions to find my way back home.
Good Morning! I am a stay at home mother to 2 little girls. Jayla is 3 and Julie is 19 months. I am attending online classes and looking for other inspiring women to connect with. Front Royal, VA
A story I have for the group is when I left my corporate job to raise my babies. We were making more than enough money to raise them while working, however, I felt a little whisper in my ear to go to them. That’s exactly what I heard. I couldn’t be more happier, but I was scared. So, the story of Jonah is near and true to my heart! I look forward to chatting with everyone!
Hi,
I have been in the middle of moving, so my computer is just now back up, I apologize for being late for this study. I’m downloading the ch. 1 & ordering the WB, and starting the study today.
I am a proud Mother of 3 boys, ages 12, 11, & 6. I live in TN.
I am directionally challenged with driving. In fact, I got lost last night going to an interview, and had mapquest directions! LOL! I accidently found my way there, and accidently found the highway to come home. But…I’m learning…….
Water-Boat-Fishing story…
Our family goes fishing from time to time… I catch turtles, shoes, tree limbs. I seem to feed the fish with the bait! We chartered a boat in FL to go deep sea fishing once, I got sea sick and was dizzy and sick for 3 days! LOL! It’s fun to look back & laugh at the stories.
I’ve just found this site – so excited to start the study. Hopefully, I will be able to catch up with you ! I will be working on the first lesson tonight and pick up my (official) workbook tomorrow.
Being computer challenged – I have no idea what I do next!
(I subscribed – and received a confirmation at my email address)
Would some kind soul please let me know – the next step !
Navigation skills? None at all !!
Hope to hear from someone soon! Thank you 😉
I sent you an email. The next step is to read the introduction post and then start reading week 1 and week 2.
Introduction to Jonah
Week One- I Am Jonah
Week 2- See Jonah Run
Hi there everyone I just found this site yesterday because I have been wanting to find an online bible study that I can be dedicated too bc my work schedule goes back and forth. I know i am a little late since you started but i just ordered the book today and i should hopefully have by the 24th and i am also planning on starting the next one too just got the book ordered. its nice to meet everyone 🙂 hope to talk to you soon.
I’m so excited about finding an online bible study. I promise I’ll catch up with you all.
I am excited just got my book today 🙂 going to start to play catch up but i am excited 🙂
I just purchased my book yesterday…is there anyone participating in the Jonah Bible Study as of Feb. 1, 2011? Please let me know…I would love to have someone to participate with.
Hi. I am just starting Jonah. It continues to be a rough life for me and I am sure that God has a purpose for this study at this time. If anyone would like to walk this journey with me or keep me in prayer I would be grateful. Thank you for this site and the encouragement to keep in the Word and relationship with my Savior even when my life is interrupted.
The study is excellent Julie, and I will be in prayer for you. Post weekly updates when you finish the lesson and I’ll keep checking them. 🙂
Christine! I am so sorry but I just saw your reply. How kind of you to answer and to be willing to walk this journey with me. My life has gone from worse to worser since I started the study but it feels good to be in the Word. Since the study started I was terminated from an aweful job and am now wondering what to do next: how to pay a mortgage, how not to get into a career disaster like I was, how to support and raise an 18 you boy on my own, how to plan for my daughter’s wedding that is out of state, should I sell the house, how to pay child support, should I move and go to school, and foremost how do I get mentally well to make these decisions on my own….and on and on. This week I have been reminded in a number of places that God hears. It seems in my life that consistently God gives and then He takes away and it is hard to believe that somehow through this mess of my life that He cares. But He tells me He hears and I have asked Him for faith. This week I have entered the part of the study on second chances and for me it is a time to start over. The problem that I have with the study is that is assumes that you know what God’s will is in your life. Although, I like what the study says: “put one foot in front of the other and trust God for the rest”. God bless, Julie
Keep your focus on God and never be tempted towards unbelief. The Devil will oppress you in times of difficulty. This is a good study for you as you learn to overcome fears, follow God and change direction when He calls. Awesome timing!
