In just a few weeks, we’ll begin a women’s bible study Living Beyond Yourself, Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit by Beth Moore. By the time our study begins on September 14, 2010, we’ll have many women participating from around the world. Some women have already completed this study and like myself, enjoyed it so much we are repeating it. Other women are new to bible study or this is their first Beth Moore study. For most of you, it’s your first online study.

During our time together, you’ll establish accountability with each other through group study and celebrate with one another after the ten-week women’s bible study. Living Beyond Yourself by Beth Moore is written to underscore the basic biblical truths through a workbook format. You’ll be using your workbook and Bible, any translation is fine.
You can also use one of the many online bibles linked to this site under “resources” in the right column. Note the link for “Strong’s Lookup” where you can type any word from your study and translate it into Hebrew or Greek to see the original meaning of the word.
Throughout the study, you’ll learn ways to apply the Fruits of the Spirit to your everyday life. You’ll answer personal discussion questions in the workbook and also comment in group discussions each Tuesday.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

I just got my book when I received my Jonah one. I am getting excited to start doing it and the plus is I already got 2 of my friends that are going to do start the study too 🙂 Very excited.
This was my very first study when I start my walk with God. It was life changing for me. It’s going to be interesting to see how my answers have changed from 15 years ago. I’m looking forward to the study!
I almost decided not to do this because I had another Bible study from 2 years ago I hadn’t finished. I was going to go ahead and finish that one. However, I have changed my mind. I think it is very powerful to study in community; even online. If anyone attended the Beth Moore simulcast in April you probably felt how powerful that was. I believe when people are in community to study God’s word he makes a pretty large appearance.
My sister and I are going doing to do this study together online, and by phone (she is 95 miles away). We are doing the Jonah study together, and it is great.
Can not wait to get started on this one. This will make going on the third study
we have done with Christine, and by the way she is great also. Blessing to all.

Looking forward to this one… I’m really enjoying Jonah right now. Also am working through some audio CDs a friend of mine had of Beth Moore discussing The Kinsman Redeemer… which is really fitting since I just completed the Kelly Minter’s Ruth study. I bought the book and downloaded the cd’s. This will be my first (can you believe it?) Beth Moore study and I am excited about it. I feel focusing on the Fruits of the Spirit will be so enriching and at such a good time of the year when I really begin to think on giving more than any other time (I know though that is nothing to call home about I should do that all year). My hope and prayer is I will keep what I learn in my heart all year long.
Hi Sharon—I’m staying committed by buying my books ahead of time. I’ve got the Fruits of the Spirit and this weekend, during Lifeway’s Labor Day sale, I’m going to pick up the Jesus study workbook. Hey, if I buy the books, I’ve got to participate, right?
I have a question. I have never done a study before and I have been chatting with you about doing this study on twitter. I understand that I need the workbook but what about the audio or video files for this. I know I have to purchase them. Is it recommended? Will the video/audio stuff come up in our discussions. Thanks.

Due to the cost, we do not have discussions about audio/video sessions and they are optional for the online study. They are however, very helpful to the study, its empowering to hear Beth Moore share her words in her own voice. If you are undecided, buy the sessions just ONE AT A TIME and only for the lessons that you want to go deeper into study. We do recommend them.

Amanda, This is my third study with this group and I cannot believe how rewarding an online study can be. I just could not find a group close to my home. The current study of Jonah with Priscilla Shirer also had a video/audio component. I did not purchase all of them and still found the study very rewarding. However, if you are an audio learner or want the extra help in understanding the study…definitely consider the video/audio component. I especially think it is helpful with a Beth Moore study. Finances are tight for our family, but I decided that my spiritual life was a worthwhile investment for me AND my family. I hope you will join us for this study!
Thanks so much for the advice I talked things over with my husband. Whenever it comes to a money issue I always talk it over with him. We just got back from vacation so were trying to be more careful with how we spend it 🙂
I am participating buying my videos and book today. I need the videos they keep me more into the study. I’ve tried just doing audio before but it seems that I need that face to face. I’m currently handicapped so seeing that face and interacting with the tv feels like real life to me I guess. I’m so thanful for online studies like this because of being handicapped actually my heart is to develop or to help grow a site like this in the future to fill the need for people in situations like mine. I’m just keeping my ears open and praying about it. In the meantime I’m so excited about participating in this study and so thankful that I found this website!
