Our energy and excitement is higher the first few weeks of Bible study. And so we are more careful not to miss a daily experience. But we know, during a six-week Bible study our lives can change. And other things- sometimes important things- compete for our time.

Sometimes in Bible study, we fall behind.

It happens.

So I wanted to share some advice. After I did this simple thing, I saw better results. Because I had a visual reminder.

Christine’s FIVE CUP Method

Imagine you have 5 empty coffee cups each Monday Morning.

These are the 5 days God wants to spend with you. Now, if cup one and two are filled up…that’s great! If cups three, four and five are empty- remind yourself GOD is waiting for YOU.

Build this habit…even IF you need to set 5 cups out on Monday morning. Remind yourself Bible study FILLS your cup! Everything else depletes the cup.

Its WHY my ministry is called a Bible Cafe, Womens Bible Cafe and Mens Bible Cafe. Go fill your spiritual cup!!

Get Your 5 Bible Cafe™ Cups

Because this method works, I want to encourage you. Do something very simple: get out 5 cups. Put these cups where you can seem them. Because it takes time for a habit to grow. And so when we see these 5 daily cups, we remind ourselves to pick them up.

Pick up the cup of faith. Devote yourself to a daily moment with God. Reach that 5th cup on Friday.

One more thing. If you do not drink coffee or tea, imagine water in your cup. After all, both coffee and tea begin with water.

So You Will Get Results

Remember when you begin a study you want to get results. For most of us we want the result to be a better understanding of the Bible. And so we spend time “drinking” a cup of Scripture. Because we create this habit for ourselves, we also pass on the tradition. So the next generation will see what we value most.
