Bible Verses About Gardens

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. (Genesis 2:1 NKJV)

Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. (Genesis 2:8 NLT)

The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. (Genesis 2:15 NLT)

What Does the Bible Say About Gardens?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” (Matthew 6:28-29 NIV)

Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32 NLT)

The Prayer Garden: Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” Matthew 26:36 NKJV

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” (John 15:1 NIV)

So Judas came to the garden, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons. Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” (John 18:3-4 NIV)
