We live in a world where people are deceived. Inside our Bibles, we see helpful Bible Verses About Being Deceived. The word first appears in Genesis, when Eve is deceived by the serpent. In the New Testament Jesus used the word deceived. In Revelation, the word deceived is attributed to Satan.
According to the Bible, we can be deceived by family, friends, coworkers, idols, government people, kings, prophets, and preachers. That’s a HUGE list! Beneath deception lurks Satan, the father of lies. Pray on that.

What does the Bible say About the Forerunner? There are two forerunners identified in the Bible: John the Baptist and Jesus. Yet the Bible does not speak frequently on forerunners. Here are the Bible verses on forerunners. The New King James Bible, English Standard Version, Message Version, and Christian Standard Bible do not use the word forerunner- at all! Although prophetic ministries speak about forerunners, its use in Scripture is very limited.
In the original Greek language, forerunner as written in Hebrews 6:20 means: “one who is sent before to take observations or act as a spy, a scout, a light armed soldier; one who comes in advance to a place where the rest are to follow.”
Bible Verses About the Forerunner
Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:20 ESV
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20 NIV
Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:20 CSB
It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.” Luke 1:17 AMP
The child continued to grow and to become strong in spirit, and he lived in the deserts until the day of his public appearance to Israel [as John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Messiah]. Luke 1:80 AMP
You yourselves are my witnesses that I stated, ‘I am not the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed),’ but, ‘I have [only] been sent ahead of Him [as His appointed forerunner and messenger to announce and proclaim His coming].’ John 3:28 AMP

Bible Verses About Counterfeit.
This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 2 Thessalonians 2:9 NLT
The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and rejected the truth that would have saved them]. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 AMP
Then the Lord said to me, “The [counterfeit] prophets are prophesying lies in My Name. I have neither sent them nor authorized them nor spoken to them. They are prophesying to you made-up visions [pretending to call forth responses from handmade gods], a worthless divination and the deceit of their own mind. Jeremiah 14:14 AMP
“I did not send [these counterfeit] prophets, Yet they ran; I did not speak to them, Yet they prophesied. Jeremiah 23:21 AMP
I am astonished and extremely irritated that you are so quickly shifting your allegiance and deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different [even contrary] gospel; which is really not another [gospel]; but there are [obviously] some [people masquerading as teachers] who are disturbing and confusing you [with misleading, counterfeit teaching] and want to distort the gospel of Christ [twisting it into something which it absolutely is not]. Galatians 1:6-7 AMP
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27 NIV
“This is your destiny, the portion [of judgment] measured to you From Me,” says the Lord “Because you have forgotten Me And trusted in [pagan] lies [the counterfeit gods, and the pretense of alliance].” Jeremiah 13:25 AMP
Therefore behold (hear this), I am against the [counterfeit] prophets,” says the Lord, “[I am descending on them with punishment, these prophets] who steal My words from one another [imitating the words of the true prophets]. Jeremiah 23:30 AMP
And as for you, do not listen to your [counterfeit] prophets, your diviners, your dreams and dreamers, your soothsayers or your sorcerers, who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’ Jeremiah 27:9 AMP
“So My hand will be against the [counterfeit] prophets who see (make up) empty and delusive visions and who give lying prophecies. They will have no place in the [secret] council of My people, nor will they be recorded in the register of the house of Israel, nor will they enter into the land of Israel, that you may know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord God. Ezekiel 13:9 AMP
They [both] will bear the punishment of their wickedness; the sin of the [counterfeit] prophet will be the same as the sin of the [hypocritical] inquirer, so that the house of Israel may no longer drift away from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions, but they will be My people, and I will be their God,”’ says the Lord God .” Ezekiel 14:10-11 AMP
For such men are counterfeit apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:13 AMP
Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? 2 Corinthians 13:5 AMP

What does the Bible say about a depraved mind? If you worry about having a depraved mind then pray these Bible verses. Ask for deliverance from a depraved mind when you pray to God. Put on the character and mind of Christ as you study your Bible and grow in wisdom.
These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. 2 Timothy 3:8 NLT
The [intrinsically] good man produces what is good and honorable and moral out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart, and the [intrinsically] evil man produces what is wicked and depraved out of the evil [in his heart]; for his mouth speaks from the overflow of his heart. Luke 6:45 AMP
If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions, and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain.1 Timothy 6:3-5 CSB

In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. Romans 1:27-28 NIV
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 2 Timothy 3:8 NIV
He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 2 Peter 2:6-6 NIV
